Mini Menu Will Tickle Tots' Tastebuds
13/03/2007
The fact that a restaurant is offering amuse bouche, appetizers and petit fours is nothing new – except when it’s for diners below the age of ten.
The Stockbridge Restaurant, in St Stephen Street, Edinburgh, will be offering a Tots Taster Menu from March, with lots of mini dishes to tickle the taste buds of younger children.
The five-course tasting menu includes an amuse bouche – a frothy espresso of sweetcorn soup with popcorn croutons; a palate cleanser – paint pot sorbets; and petit fours – choccycinos with baby mallows.
Chef/proprietor and father, Jason Gallagher, created the menu because he felt it was time that children were catered for just as well as their parents. “Taster Menus are typically only served to customers happy to pay the hefty price tag associated with them, however they are the ideal way to encourage children to discover new tastes and flavours and keep their interest,” said Jason.
The menu will be available on the first Sunday of every month from 12pm-3.30pm, and cost £6.95.
