MSPs Say No to Junk Food in Schools
19/03/2007
A new law that bans the sale of junk food to Scottish school pupils has been approved unanimously by MSPs.
The Schools (Health Promotion and Nutrition) Act means all food sold in schools must now meet exacting nutritional standards. Food and drink that is high in sugar, salt and fat, such as crisps and sweets, will not be sold on the premises.
