What: Oleifera Extra Virgin Rapeseed Oil, £6 for 500ml
Why: More commonly associated with warmer climes, this new oil has caused something of a stir recently for being produced entirely in Scotland. Made by a small group of Borders' farmers, the new cold-pressed oil is 100 per cent natural and GM free. Though Scottish chefs and food critics have been split over its usefulness and taste, here at AllFood we think it's delicious. Its strong, slightly malty taste lends itself to meaty stir-fries and it’s especially good in dressings, drizzled over salads. We also liked its sleek and stylish packaging, reminiscent of top-end Mediterranean oils.
