Producers Urged to Make Chef Contacts at Trade Show
03/04/2007
East Lothian food and drink suppliers can promote their produce to chefs and restaurants at a meet and greet event in May.
Organisers of the East Lothian Food and Drink Trade Show are inviting producers to show off their wares to the hospitality industry at the event, in Haddington, which will include a taste test of locally-grown versus supermarket-bought produce.
The need for such an event was highlighted at the 'Eating East Lothian' seminar in March, which sought to understand the current barriers to using local produce and identify ways in which those barriers might be overcome.
