What: No Catch…Just Sea Trout
Why: Following the success of its sustainable, organic ‘No Catch…just Cod’, Shetland-based company Johnson Sustainable Foods has recently expanded its range to include organically farmed sea trout. Stocks of sea trout have declined markedly in recent years, with the fish running the gauntlet of the salmon farms, but this brand offers an environmental alternative. The company’s techniques ensure the fish never come into contact with pesticides or hormones, and they’re only fed on sustainable sourced natural fishmeal, made from off-cuts of fish already caught for human consumption. They work closely with the Marine Conservation Society, Friend of the Sea and the RSPCA, to ensure the highest environmental and fish welfare standards.
