– Moray farmer and butcher Michael Gibson is to take over the role of Chairman of the QMS Assurance Schemes Cattle and Sheep Standard Setting Body.
– Orkney-based Highland Park has clinched the title of “Distiller of the Year” at the San Francisco World Spirits Awards 2007.
– Wannaburger bar and restaurant has opened its second outlet in Edinburgh, on the Royal Mile. The company, which specializes in homemade burgers and fresh shakes is run by entrepreneur Jon Clemence, better know for his time at the Cambridge Bar, where he first trialed a gourmet burger menu in 2004.
– Gary Rhodes has opened a new restaurant onboard P&O Cruises’ Southampton-based luxury liner Oriana.
– Willie Pike, executive chef and head of craft training for Costley and Costley Hoteliers, has won this year’s Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) Scotland Industry Award.
