Rare Bottlings Up for Sale
17/04/2007
A rare Scotch whisky is expected to make between £12,000 and £16,000 when it goes under the hammer at a major auction this month.
The rare bottle of Johnnie Walker 1805 Scotch whisky will be offered at Bonhams’ sale of Fine Wine and Whisky, at New Bond Street, on April 25. Only 200 bottles of this blend were produced in 2005 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of John Walker and have never been available for retail sale. The sale proceeds will be donated to the National Trust for England, Wales and Scotland.
The auction will also include a range of other interesting whiskies including Macallan 1938 (£700-800), Ardbeg 1965 (£1,500-2,000) and two bottles of Springbank 1973 (£600-700).
