The owner of an Edinburgh restaurant has put out a plea for voters to stand up and be counted at the Scottish General Elections this Thursday.

Restaurateur Asaddar Ali, from Zest restaurant in St Andrews Square, is offering a 15 per cent discount to all voters who bring their voting card to the restaurant on election day.

He said: “I feel that more effort should be made to encourage all voters to support their parties and vote on May 3. I thought an incentive like this could do the trick, at this very important time in Scotland.”
