Book lovers, film-goers and comedy fans have all had their fill at the Edinburgh Festival over the years, but now foodies can gorge themselves at their very own culinary event.

The first-ever dedicated food event at the Edinburgh Festivals will launch on the August 18 and 19, celebrating Scottish food and drink with cookery demos by top chefs such as Martin Wishart, Tom Kitchin and Jeff Bland, a whisky tasting and a food hall selling fresh, local produce.
