Six Restaurants Win Gold in Award Scheme

Six Scottish restaurants have been recognized as ‘outstanding eating experiences ‘ in a national scheme.
Airds Hotel and Restaurant, in Argyll; Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles; Castleton House Hotel, in Angus; Michael Caines Restaurant at Abode, in Glasgow; Restaurant Martin Wishart, in Edinburgh; and The Three Chimneys, on the Isle of Skye were all given a Gold Award at the EatScotland Awards, held today at the Point Hotel.
Seven other restaurants were awarded Individual Excellence Awards, in recognition of the unique experiences they offer customers. They included:
Brodie Countryfare near Forres, Moray – Self Service Restaurant Excellence Award
Candlestick Maker, Aboyne, Aberdeenshire – One to Watch Excellence Award
Coast, Oban – Small Team Excellence Award
Dakhin and Dhabba, Glasgow – Cultural Cuisine Excellence Award
Doune Knoydart – Destination Dining Excellence Award
Kilcamb Lodge Hotel, Argyll – Romantic Restaurant Excellence Award
Skirling House, Biggar – Local Produce Excellence Award
EatScotland is VisitScotland’s food quality assurance scheme, which assesses hundreds of Scottish restaurants, cafes, pubs and take-aways on the quality of their cuisine, innovation and use of fresh, local ingredients, as well as décor, cleanliness and service.
