Eco-Friendly Distillery Planned for Scotland
14/05/2007
A Scottish entrepreneur is planning to open the country’s first eco-friendly distillery.
Euan Shand, managing director of Duncan Taylor & Co independent Scotch whisky bottlers, is branching out into spirit production – with a distillery that is carbon neutral.
Shand plans to spend £3.5million on a new complex in Huntly, near Aberdeenshire, which will include a visitors' centre, warehouse and bottling facilities, and will produce single malt whisky, vodka and gin.
– Plans are also in the pipeline for a new independent brewery at the Glenkindie Arms at Strathdon, Aberdeenshire.
