FIRST HIGHLAND WHISKY FESTIVAL

Balblair, Dalmore, Glenmorangie and Glen Ord distilleries are coming together to host this two-day event of education and celebration. Planned activities include masterclasses, tours and a whisky dinner.

All events and tickets must be booked and bought from the individual distilleries. Events include:

Balbair Distillery
, which is not normally open for visitors, will be offering visitors the chance to go behind the distillery door. John Macdonald, the new distillery manager, will be conducting exclusive masterclass tours. £20. 1.30pm-3.30pm. 01862 821 273

Glenmorangie Distillery
will be holding whisky and food events with a chance to taste food from local producers and some single malt expressions, from 11.30am-2.30pm. They will also host the Festival Dinner on Saturday, from 7.30pm. Masterclass £20, Dinner £50. 01862 892 477.

Dalmore Distillery will be showcasing local craft companies and the skills of the distillery coopers. Master-blender, Richard Paterson, will be conducting three whisky masterclasses, from 11am-1.30pm. Masterclass £20. 01349 882 362.

Glen Ord
will offer an in-depth masterclass, finishing with a cheese and whisky tasting, from 11am-1.30pm. 01463 872 004.
